Help, was this genuinely EE or a scam call...

Hi this number keeps ringing, and it’s claimed to be EE it shows as alert so have been ignoring it yet when blocked it can still call me? Was hoping I could get my answer here?

the number is 0191 594 6541...

It's sorta genuine. It's from Inspired, an EE Direct partner

I have received a Call from this number 0191 594 6541 claiming to be EE but when I asked for his name he didn’t wanted to give me his full only said his first name is Owen and he won’t give me his full name. Is this a genuine call from EE ?

Seems like we are receiving call from the same number I just spoke to EE they said it’s not them so likely it is a scam

The 0191 number is not in that list.

They called me , sent me an ee text message , which was from where my usual ee text messages come from.

They offered me 40% off my bill but wanted my email address, and said they had all details ready to tell me back, once i confirmed my email address.

I could have done with the discount due to financial uneasiness, but I declined their offer as I was not sure

I called tthe number back and there was no calls being accepted there on 01919226541

Whilst our partners do sometimes call from 0191 numbers, this isn't one we have listed anywhere, so you were definitely right to be wary here.

If you can please report this to us via the form here, this will get it flagged with our security team for further investigation.

Thankyou Peter.

They somehow can send text message from the official ee text message system, so they have somehow hacked your text message system

I will try later to report, but please feel free to do so too, as I just made up a figure of how much my bill was and the guy on the phone had an Indian accent but he said straight away he will taken 40 percent off, which did not gel with me. He maybe UK based, I have no idea

Our text message system definitely won't have been hacked, but I'd still like check a few things here so we can get an idea of what could have happened.

What exactly did the message they sent you say?

Feel free to pop up a screenshot, but make sure to mask any personal details.

Also did you provide any personal information to the person on the call?
