Is £2.47 daily roaming charge cheaper option for less than 10 days?

Hello, am planning on visiting Spain for 10 days. Is the option of £2.47 daily roaming charge not better option than

Roam Abroad Pass for £25 a month considering I may not use my phone everyday? Can I cancel the £2.47 daily roaming charge once back to UK? I ask this because some people have reported they can't turn this off once added. Does this option cover the same benefits as the Roam Abroad Pass or are there any hidden costs?

The Roam Abroad pass and the daily-charge, both achieve the exact same aims - the use of your UK allowances subject to a data FUP.

If you don't have a Roam Abroad pass, the daily charge will only apply on any day you use your UK allowances in the relevant countries. This means making or receiving any calls, sending any texts, or using mobile data. If you use none on any calendar day, you won't be charged.

The worst case scenario is therefore a £24.70 charge, which is more cost-effective than the monthly roaming pass. If your trip staggers your billing cycle, then the Roaming Pass will also work out significantly more - due to how it's charged when you cancel it.

Thank you so much @bristolian for your quick response. Just final question please, what do I need to do just before travelling to activate the £2.47 daily roaming charge beside texting ROAMING to 150.

The £2.47 daily charge is the default option for all pay-monthly accounts unless you specifically opt-in for the monthly roaming pass instead.

It should be listed as an active add-on in your online account.

For only 10 days abroad, the default £2.47 / day roaming charge will always be cheapest for 2 reasons:

You don't pay it on the days you use none of your UK allowances in the EU.
The £25 roaming charge is charged per billing month & your stay is likely to span 2 billing months. So you'll likely to be paying more than £25 in total.
