You just need to decide whether pay-monthly or PAYG is your choice, and source the SIM as normal.

Pay-monthly plans are available either with phones on a (normally) 24month minimum term, or on a SIM-only basis with either 30day, 12month or 24month minimum terms.

I've been with EE for many years, but my kids aren't and we just need them to have a temporary SIM so that they can have a working phone when on holiday in Canada. I believe their current network can't help.

I've asked Customer Service if I can get something through EE and was told that I could get a temporary SIM card on a rolling £13 per month, but that nobody knew if it would work in Canada (the whole point in me getting a temporary SIM) or whether we could add the £25 roam further pass to them.

What would you advice be, please? They're quite old phones, so they can't be E-SIMS.

Thanks!

Are you and your kids currently in Canada? That's fundamental to this.

An EE PAYG or pay-monthly SIM can be registered in the UK and roaming enabled for use abroad. A pay-monthly SIM can have the Roam Abroad add-on if required.

If the proposed user is currently abroad, this fails. SIMs can only be supplied to UK addresses, and PAYG needs activating in the UK before roaming is auto-enabled.

Thank you very much for your reply and yes, we’re still in the UK and still at the planning stage.
So do I need to collect SIM cards from a store please?
