I have been getting weird phone calls recently

I have been getting weird phone calls the last few day, when you answer there is no one on the other end then there will be around 10 seconds of static and the call hangs up. I have blocked the number every time but it always seems to be from a different number. Not overly concerned about this but though it was weird and was wondering if anyone else has been having this.

This could be automated outbound diallers, often used by outbound call centres.
