Roaming in the USA and Canada

Been in Canada the past few days and was working fine. But since mid day it's been patchy with giving me signal to anything with no R symbol appearing on my bars. Any help appreciated

I have paid for roaming but on arrival in Canada it is very poor. Very intermittent..

Roaming is a free facility, what you've likely paid for is a billing add-on to reduce the cost of it.

In what way is your roaming service "very intermittent" - can you explain the symptoms? Does your phone show a connection to any Canadian networks? It is they who provide coverage in Canada.

Hi, I'm in the USA and I'm on a monthly plan with EE in the UK. I purchased the Road Abroad Pass and I still don't get any reception from any of the carriers here in the US. Already tried restarting my device multiple times and toggled the airplane mode countless times.

Hope someone could help with this.

@claurence22 : As you are on contract, did you activate roaming on your EE a/c before you left UK by texting ROAMING to 150? Having a roaming billing add-on doesn't of itself activate roaming on your a/c. Having roaming activated on your EE a/c, not just on your device, is crucial to using your contract SIM abroad.

Often just rebooting the phone is the simple remedy. Also try selecting a network manually rather than auto.

Otherwise you need to call CS to get your roaming activated. Try calling CS on the Freephone no. in my sig. on Skype over WiFi. It should be free.

Hi Claurence22 - i am in the USA too with a roam abroad pass and have no 4G signal at all for the last 6 hours. Did you find a solution?

I am in the New York area and not able to roam whereas I could do it yesterday. I have tried ds usual tricks restarting the phone manual network search etc.

Still no luck. It would be nice to know the solution.

My uk mobile shows connection to Verizon in florida and has worked fine for a couple of months , until today and now every time I call out it immediately shows call failed

text is working and WiFi for what’s app or face time

I have an IPhone 14 and have been in the USA for a week and my roaming pass has been working fine. It has suddenly changed to SOS mode and I can’t get a network I have reset phone, changed auto network on and off, airplane mode on and off also and turned it off for a while nothing is working can this be looked into as with the time difference I am unable to call

EE roaming benefits are intended for UK residents who spend no more than 2 months out of UK in any 4 month period.

I am also getting the exact same - I'm also in New York and getting SOS only. Seems like there is an outage as many people are reporting this.

I am also in US- I’ve had intermittent 5g and my husband has no 5g. We are in our 2nd week here and it has worked fine before with our included roaming passes. We have tried rebooting and other obvious solutions.

Is there an issue with EE roaming?

It looks like roaming is having issues across the board. Many of us are on a trip to New York atm & those of us on EE are getting SOS only.

I am having exactly same problem.

I have been travelling in USA Canada since 2 June and had excellent service suddenly No Service have checked all settings are still same and tried restarting phone etc, can't connect EE as office closed...any one else having same problem now???

We paid for the entire family to move onto the All Rounder plan for a trip to the USA and suddenly today, none of the Roaming services are working, after it working fine for several days. We have tried all the options, from restarting the phone to turning on and off the Auto network selection. Nothing is working and this resulted in my 16 year old daughter being stranded without her phone and no way to turn for help,

We need help urgently and this roaming problem fixed.

Hi, I have been in Canada for 5 days and my roaming has been working fine. I have a roaming pass as part of my contract. This morning it randomly went off for about 30 mins showing SOS mode and then came back on. The same thing has now happened, but it is not seeming to come back on. Please can you tell me how to fix this as I think there is an issue. Thanks

I have a data roaming pass included in my monthly contract and arrived in Canada on Saturday to which everything has been working fine. However this morning this all stopped working and my phone was just showing SOS. After half and hour or so, this came back on. However now it has happening again. Please help and sort this issue as this is something extra I have paid for an am relying on this service whilst I’m away. Thanks
