Orange network unlock

Hi,

I have an old Sony device that is locked to the Orange mobile network. I am looking to get it unlocked, or at least shifted to work with EE sims (as it currently does not); I have tried to use the online device unlocking tool, but it just throws an error ("There's an error on our end"); and I gave the EE support line a call, but the automated help just pointed me back to the online device unlocking tool.

- I have tried it with an Orange sim - it accepts this.

- I have tried with an EE sim - it asks for a network unlock pin.
