Roaming not working abroad in USA

I have added on roaming to use my phone from the UK to the USA and i cannot make a call or text. I also cannot get hold of EE to notify them. Also i have tried to increase my soend cap to which i too again have been unsuccesful.

Added on roaming what? A billing add-on to keep costs down or permission to be able to roam in the 1st place?

To add to the previous reply, are you currently in the UK or USA?

If you are in the UK, you are not roaming but making international calls. This should just be a case of removing call bars and charge restrictions.

If you are in the USA, you are roaming and - regardless of billing add-ons - obtaining coverage is reliant on having permission to connect to foreign networks. This is achieved by enabling the free roaming facility.

Which is your scenario, and are you on pay-monthly or PAYG?
