I’m not sure why that number I mentioned was displayed, but after deleting it, it seemed to rectify the ‘fault’ and is working OK now.

still a mystery to me what happened or why, but looks like just deleting that number which should not have been where it was, sorted it.

thanks for taking the time to answer.

I have had an EE number for a long time as I used to be with Asda, who were EE too.

This evening, I tried to get a code sent to my phone, but nothing has arrived. Then I noticed that the number displayed on my phone is NOT MY NUMBER but one that is close apart from the last couple of digits.

Do any of you clever ‘phone people’ know what the heck is wrong with my phone?

I tried ringing my land line and that connected ok, but I still haven’t got the text codes I should have received to MY number, which is displaying two digits different from what they should be.

When I rang the number displayed on my phone it connected to a car selling company near Rochdale’s switch board. Now that’s just weird,

Why is my mobile phone displaying a WRONG NUMBER that connects to car sales company near Rochdale?

Where are the code messages that my phone should be recieving?

I am perplexed, can anyone explain this one?

When you make an outbound call, is the CLI-displayed, what it should be? That is "your" number. Equally, when your phone rings, what is the number a caller has dialled?
