Active EE Roaming will not connect to any network in Bangladesh

Hi,

I have a active EE Roaming SIM which was working until I reached Bangladesh.

The SIM won't connect to any network automatically or manually. I have Samsung S23 Ultra. Also, checked the SIM in a iPhone. Result is same.

Does EE have active roaming contract with any network in Bangladesh?

I am abroad for 5 days now. Last couple of days called the EE helpline but the systems were down so they couldn't help me.

I am on pay monthly plan.

Which countries were you roaming in prior to Bangladesh - were they EU countries?

You could have EU-only roaming enabled if so.

Yes, you are right. I was roaming in EU. When I texted 150 it said the roaming is enabled. Does the roaming has to be enabled separately outside EU?

There are options when you enable roaming, for it to be EU-specific or full global.

Do you have a screenshot of the text messages you received? Or the exact text of them? Your symptoms are certainly consistent with EU-only roaming being active.

I don't have the text or specifics with me now as I am using a different handset.

Considering if it's set to EU specific, can customer service activate the full global if I call them?

I just managed to speak to EE and they confirmed for Global Roaming it is a separate option. They have now activated it.

It is slightly different then other network.

Just for note EE has enabled the global roaming but I decided not to get add on for now. It can be added anytime by calling them.
