Can you be specific about what you've done thus far? There may be suggestions that you've not identified, that are useful.

The crucial part to enabling access to foreign networks is to have activated roaming by texting ROAMING to 150 before leaving the UK. Providing that's confirmed, trying manual connections to alternative local networks is often a good solution.

150 is free to call & text even when roaming.”

I can't manually connect to any domestic service provider in Mainland China. I have no idea how this happened.

I can't do any selection, in other words, there is no network provider
listed I can choose. I know it's a bit weird but I have got another number
of giffgaff and it works perfectly in this phone.

If the eSIM is actived in the UK on the EE network, this is the same as a physical SIM when abroad and if the account is set up for roaming should work for you.

This could be interpreted one of two ways..

1: You perform a manual network search, nothing is shown. This suggests you're in an area of no coverage which EE can't rectify

2: Local Chinese networks are shown, but you're not able to connect. This could be due to fault, or lack of roaming agreement. EE would need to clarify.
