I have been in Toronto since Saturday and I have never been able to get more than 30 seconds of roaming before the one bar of service disappears and the SOS icon appears. I can’t believe how terrible the roaming is here, even though I pay extra to be able to use my minutes and texts through the add on service. I have been unable to use maps, call my family or respond to important emails for work. So ridiculous! Please help, anyone!

Hi @SOSEE

Welcome to the community.

Are you able to try manually connecting to a different operator? What kind of phone are you using? Are you on contract or pay as you go?

Regardless of any billing add-on, your ability to get coverage abroad (which calls, texts & mobile data rely on) is dependent on roaming being activated - which allows your phone to connect to foreign networks. Receiving a welcome text message on arrival abroad is usually a good indication that this is setup - did you?

On pay-monthly, this needs to be enabled manually - usually by texting ROAMING to 150 before leaving the UK. Did you do this?

If you now find yourself abroad without having enabled roaming, your only recourse will be to contact CS to request it activated. You can either contact +44 7953 966150 from another working phone, or +44 800 0798586 using a web-calling app such as Skype over WiFi.
