Yes, I can receive calls and send texts. I have a new EE SIM. My problem is exactly the same as the post I was replying to.

I should also say that I am using this SIM in a new Nokia 105 as a very basic PAYG, so I don’t know if the problem is with the SIM or the device.

Could you try extending the ringing time to see if this helps by typing this directly into your phone's keypad (you may need to hit the call button too):

**61*07953222222**20#

If that works, it should change it to 20 seconds before the caller is directed to voicemail if this is set up or a call busy message.

Thanks Leanne. I typed this in and pressed call and got a reply that confirmed it - can’t remember what it said exactly. Then I tried calling my landline but there is no change. After 3 rings I get the number you called is busy message. But my landline is not busy. And even if it was, the call should have gone to voicemail. When my friend rings my landline and I don’t pick up, the call goes through to voicemail after a good number of rings, which is as it should be. So it seems to be only my new mobile and SIM that is having the problem.

Not sure who you mean be ‘the caller’ - does that mean me calling out?

Sorry for any confusion, this would help for people calling your mobile number not calling out.

Is this happening when you call any other numbers or just the landline?

I just tried calling my mobile from my landline and it took 20 secs to go through to voicemail so I suspect the code you gave me has changed the time it takes for PEOPLE CALLING ME to go through to voicemail? Whereas my problem is with ME CALLING OTHERS from my mobile and getting cut off with the busy message (number you are calling is busy) after only 3 rings.

I contacted EE by phone on the 20th. They thought my problem was caused by an issue with the local EE network, however I have since tried my phone in other locations where there is no EE network issue and I still have the same problem. I will leave it now until after Xmas and then try ringing EE again.

Hopefully this is my final post on this subject as my problem is now resolved. I realised that it was only occurring when I dialled landlines, mobiles were OK. Every landline I dialled would ring for 4 rings then my phone would say 'number you dialled is busy'. EE told me there was a a network problem in my area that would explain it, but when I used my phone in other areas that did not have a network problem, according to the EE Coverage and Network Status Checker, I still got the problem. This was before Xmas. In the New Year I got an email to say the fault in my area was fixed and I decided to try my phone again, not expecting the problem to be resolved but yay, I rang a landline (my own) and it rang all the way through to my voicemail. So, your guess is as good as mine.....

I have exactly the same problem with my Nokia mobile and ee network, but it only happens when I phone landlines - no problem calling mobiles. I rarely use this phone, and some months ago the problem seemed to have resolved by itself but now it is back. I have tried to investigate before and given up. Did you ever find out what is causing this problem?
