Hi,

Could someone please help me I am in the USA, and I am unable to receive incoming calls from the UK. Could someone tell me why this is? is it something I need to do to the phone or do I need to buy an international plan? I don't need international plan for data as using Wi-Fi.

I have a Galaxy Samsung S21.

also, I can receive texts but not calls from the UK.

@Charlene000 : Can you make calls & send texts?

Are you on contract or PAYG? Had you used that SIM for making calls or texts in UK before you left to go abroad?

If you are on contract, did you activate roaming on your EE a/c before you left UK by texting ROAMING to 150? Having a roaming billing add-on doesn't of itself activate roaming on your a/c. Having roaming activated on your EE a/c, not just on your device, is crucial to using your contract SIM abroad.

Often just rebooting the phone is the simple remedy. Also try selecting a network manually rather than auto. Otherwise you need to call CS to get your roaming activated. Try calling CS on the Freephone no. in my sig. on Skype over WiFi. It should be free.

when I try to call it comes up with no connection. I can text people in the UK. I have a contract that pays monthly. I did not set anything up before leaving as I have never done that before and it's always work.

Does your phone show a connection to any US networks? That's fundamental to making & receiving calls.

You mention being able to send text messages, and that your phone has worked abroad before. But can you confirm?

I come to the USA 3 times a year and I have never done anything to my phone or paid for a roaming plan and it has always worked.

The network showing on my phone right now is saying T-mobile.

Could you try manually connecting to another available network, @Charlene000?

Have you upgraded or changed your price plan since you last went abroad?

I have done this already still not working.

I have not changed anything to my plan

I have just bought a further roam plan for £25 and I am still unable to receive calls from the UK. does not make sense.

I can receive texts and send them before the add-on. but I can not gets calls or call out

Which networks have you tried? If nothing has changed since your last trip abroad, it should be set up for roaming.

Do you have an active spend cap?

I have tried T-Mobile, Verizon, Wireless, AT&T.

People are now going straight to vioce mail. My phone does not ring but I do get a text saying I have missed a call.

What can I do to get the call to go complete though and I received the calls?

I have tried this and I can not call 150 or the outside UK number +447953966150 nothing is connecting.

I can not even receive voicemail.

Does VoLTE show on-screen next to your signal indicators? This is the tech underpinning 4G-calling which is often required in the US.

My Galaxy runs Android 13, the precise location may vary, but the VoLTE toggle should be under Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > VoLTE

I presume that it should still show whilst roaming (which is what the "R" is) - https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/what-do-the-different-indicator-icons-mean-on-your-galaxy-phone/

ok, I have gone through settings and it is showing VoLTE calls turn on.

So why am I still not able to receive and call out, this is driving me mad. I have up by spend cap I have also paid for further pass as well as world talk nothing is working.
