Unable to text anyone

I received 2 suspect texts saying a friend had sent me an eephoto. I knew she hadn't. So I deleted them both. When I received another I blocked the number and now I can't text or receive texts from anyone. I have just joined today, would be grateful for your advice thanks

Were you previously able to send texts?

What happens when you try to send a text?

Can you make and receive phone calls?

Thank you Jon for your reply I’m not very tech savvy. I tried to sort it last night, on my screen when I go into sms messenger, it says ( no stored conversations have been found.) Then underneath it says ( start a conversation ) I clicked on start conversation and an error page came up at the same time as my contacts. So yes I can text people now and I received a text 5 mins ago. But the start a conversation page comes up first every time. I phoned my son and he said uninstall it and reinstall the same one or a different one. So I will probably do that. Many thanks Jon

@Z-4m , If that does not work, you may have to factory reset your phone and set it up again, make sure that anything you want, is backed up, as when you factory reset and set up fresh, all is gone, but you can get the stuff you have backed-up back.
