topic Return calls in Mobile Services

I keep receiving calls from people who claim I have phoned them, when I haven't. I presume that this is some sort of scam.

If I don't answer I often receive a text message some with quite aggressive tone asking me to stop calling them.

The calls are from different numbers and from people of varying nationality, male and female.

There are no outgoing calls to these numbers shown on the call log on my phone.

I am blocking the numbers as I receive the calls but they are increasing in regularity.

Is there anything I can do apart from change my number?

Hi @sophie_williams

Welcome to the community.

It sounds like those users who are calling you may have been contacted by a scammer using a technique called call spoofing. This article explains what that is: Call spoofing - The EE Community.

Spoofed calls are not just targeting UK residents, these calls originate from all over the world. This is a worldwide problem. Both the UK and international regulators are working with the telecoms industry to solve this problem.
