I've got my EE SIM in a Samsung A53 5G that I use for business

Connecting calls can take around 30 seconds and sometimes, when sending an SMS, it takes a good 20 seconds to send also (I use Textra and have the notification for sent messages)

FYI this happens on the native SMS app also; so it's not Textra related

The texts do get through 9as do the calls); but I cannot figure out why the delay all the time

Phone reset, all apps/OS is up to date etc...

It's only happened with EE; GiffGaff & Three before that had zero issues

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Cheers

Does this happen in multiple locations?

Have you tried another SIM in your device to see if this works OK?

Call setup times can vary substantially depending on whether the calling and called party are on an IMS-layer (VoLTE/WiFi-calling) or legacy (2G/3G) or by extension, other networks.

Mobile originated text submission is similar.

Are you aware of any issues within your area?

As previously mentioned, call setup times are not dictated by any phone settings and it's not something users have any preference over.

Calls will generally setup quicker when both the calling & called parties are on IMS-layers, but as long as the call completes there should be no cause for concern.

Makes no sense

Never had this issue before until I've moved to EE.

And it is a concern (more an annoyance) as I use my phone A LOT as its my business number.

So making calls and constantly getting delays once I've dialled is getting infuriating now...

If it is happening on your Samsung but not the iPhone maybe it is time to swap phones?

Are both using 5G sims?

See... That's a stupid answer.

There are no issues with the Samsung on GG or Three. So why should I swap it out?

It's obvious that it's an EE issue...

I'll sort it some other way rather than on here with mindless, stupid answers like that.

Typical of forums really...
