Intermittent problems with calls, other persons hears an echo, I hear garble

It's been suggested by a mobile phone repair service in Sutton-in-Ashfield that it's fairly local network problem. As I say, it's intermittent. I've checked, it also happens when caller and I do not have cases on our phones so it's not that.. And it's always at both ends, they get their voice echoed, I get intermittent garble.

No, and I get notices when there is one. And only a few minutes ago I realised that my wife, with the same phone on EE, has no problems. So despite what the guy who services phones said, that can't be it. It's a pain. I bought the phone as refurbished from Amazon in February, and I could send it back to the seller and get it back in 3 weeks, but given how intermittent it is I want someone local to do it. There used to be a Samsun Experience place in Nottingham but sadly it's close and the nearest one is much too far.
