@pjgmilward , did you make sure that roaming was activated on your account? This would only apply if on contract?

Monthly, sims apparently enabled for European roaming long conversation with EE to make this happen for all year use., both my phone and my partners one i phone one samsong .every time we go abroad there is a problem we travel to Europe a lot.never a issue before Brexit.

Has your phone connected to a local network?

As Turkey is not in the EU, you'll need full international roaming activated on your account and an appropriate add-on in order to use data. Calls and texts will be charged as listed in Roaming costs for Turkey.

Yes it is connected to a network. I spoke to EE before we left and was assured that both the phones would work in Turkey and later Slovakia. I purchased year round roaming for both as we were fed up of purchasing roaming every couple of months. We can only use wi fi nothing else works. We can not contact EE as its only a text service and to use it wi fi has to be turned off, no email address for them and no phone number which we can not phone anyway

We purchased two new contracts with permanent roam abroad for the EU and Turkey which was all included with a broadband deal.

Sorry, the Roam Abroad Pass doesn't cover Turkey. You can fins a list of included countries in How do I get the Roam Abroad Pass?

To use mobile data in Turkey you'll need to purchase a data add-on and calls will be charged as listed in our roaming calculator.
