Roam Pass in Australia

We are off to Australia shortly and have purchased the Roam Pass. We are monthly contracts on both forms.

I presume I need to enable roaming on our phones. If I need to make a call back to the UK what sort of number do I need to dial? For example 01753 669366 becomes what? Do I need to use an international code i.e 0044 in front of the number?

@Bolt12 : It's not just on your phones. You need to text ROAMING to 150 before you leave UK to ensure roaming is enabled on your account.

The Roaming pass is a billing add-on which reduces the cost.

Separately, you need to enable roaming which is the network-level facility allowing your phones to connect to foreign networks. Without that, you won't connect to any Australian mobile networks.

In theory, you should be able to dial from your phone book as normal - if you have any issues, then the two quick fixes are...

1: Manually select an alternative local network

2: Try changing the number from 0xxxx to +44xxxx

Thank you. I have just done so and have told husband to do it too! Should I turn off Wi Fi calling too? Never too sure what that does…..

We have set £50 allowance for ourselves but husband needs to be contactable during our trip to Oz and also make calls. If he needs to make a call to say Dubai I presume he will be charged as though he was calling from the UK and it will just be mobile/landline calls back to the UK that are included in the Roam Pass or have I got myself mixed up?

If we mess this up presumably the £50 limit will kick in. Really trying to avoid huge bills when we get back.

We are going to use What’s App and Skype where we can of course.

No, he'll br charged according to https://ee.co.uk/help/help-new/roaming-costs/countries/australia.

Calls to numbers outside EE	£1.54 a minute
