I am currently in Florida with exactly the same problem. Roaming pass but no phone network. My husband on same account as me is having no problems.

I didn't get the usual Welcome to USA text when I landed on Saturday. Never had this problem here, or any other country I've travelled to over many years with EE.

The most frustrating thing is not being able to contact EE. Dreadful customer service!!

It's correct to state that if you travel abroad without enabling international roaming, you do indeed create a catch-22 situation which can only currently be resolved by contacting CS from another device.

By being in the US and mentioning that you've used your phone abroad previously, yours is slightly different to the post you replied to. Does your phone show a connection to any of the US networks?

The roaming pass is just a billing add-on and is only relevant for reducing call, text & data charges.

Sorry to hear that you are having the same problem!

My wife has tried phoning EE for help but seems to get into some complicated process which ends up going nowhere. I can't believe that the online chat service has been unavailable all the time I have been away, it would seem to be the obvious source of help.

It seems that I should have informed EE that I was going abroad to enable roaming. Funnily enough I thought that when I texted them to start the Roam Abroad service and immediately paid £15 for the privilege that they might have twigged to the fact that I was actually going abroad. Maybe I was just being thick and there are loads of EE customers who pay for this service months in advance because they like giving EE money for sod all.

Hope you can get this sorted, all the best.

It's correct to state that adding a billing add-on doesn't automatically enable the international roaming facility - it is this which allows a phone to connect to a foreign network.

However, the OP in this thread mentioned they have used their phone abroad previously - hence this potentially being a different scenario.
