Hi, I am in Malta and my iphone 14 has connected to the go mobile network out here. I have network selection to automatic but am unable to make any calls. All I get is a recorded message saying this number is restricted from this network. EE are charging me £2.29 a day and I cant even use it. My wife is on o2 (Giffgaff) and can call me no problem.

That's a strange one - you're connected and receiving incoming calls which means the service is working.

Are the numbers you're trying to dial in the international format (e.g. +44 20 78xx xxxx or +44 7788 xxxxxx) as if not, the error message could come from the fact you're trying to dial in a way the network doesn't recognise.

If that's not the fix, I'd so a manual network search and try and hook onto another network there, see if that resolves it.

Thank you but it didnt work. I will try to get EE to refund my £2.29 a day as I cannot use their service.

Hi. i cannot send texts but can recieve incoming calls.

It sounds like the calling abroad restriction is active on your account, to check this and help get roaming fully set up please call us on +44 7953966250 from any other phone.

To add, the roaming facility itself is free of charge. The daily charge referred to, is a cost to use your UK allowances within the EU - this is only incurred on any day you use your phone.
