My voicemail icon is showing in my notifications but there are no messages. How do I get rid of the icon?

Call yourself from another phone and leave a message, then call voicemail from your phone and delete the message.

Seems lame asf if that's the only way to get rid of it. Shame I haven't another phone to call myself.

How else can you get rid of the icon? It says I've 2 messages, yet when I ring voicemail, there are none.
