Mobile phone keypad input for multi choice service issues

why doesn't my mobile phone keypad input for multi choice on a service call register and the automated voice ignores it, just wondering if anybody else has had this issue?

What kind of phone do you have? Do you mean when the automated service says 'Press 1 for X, Press 2 for Y' etc?

Could you try turning on dial pad tones please and see if it works then?

Go to Settings > Sound > Dial Pad tones > Turn ON.
