I was in Germany recently. Vodafone seems to be only a back up and it only gives Edge connectivity.

The best connection is Telekom on 5G, but you have to manually search for it. For some reason it isn’t EE’s preferred partner, although it is by far the best connection.

O2 is their preferred partner, but the reception in most cases is ropey, but you will at least get 4G with it.

I hope this helps.

Hi, I have 2 phones. Both have Global and Europe roaming switched on. They both work fine in other countries. However I was in Germany recently and neither worked. I could just receive a call. No data, e-mails or internet. The carrier there was Vodafone Germany. Service strength was 'E' Is this something others have experienced.

Are you still in Germany now? if so - try manually selecting an alternative local network and also restarting your phone to force another auto-selection.

If you're back in the UK now, there's nothing that can realistically be done to prove the reason for this. But a local network issue is usually the cause.
