Calls Over WiFi - Why is it so sporadic?

Last few weeks - sometimes not available for hours at a time. Never used to be like this.

I work from home and for whatever reason EE can offer me a quality mobile phone signal I am dependent on 'calls over WIFI' - always have been. (its nove even like I'm in a remote area - its a large town, housing estate)

Today - for whatever reason again - no option for calls over wifi

@brianotoole Calls over Wi-Fi rely on a decent Wi-Fi signal from your router. It could possibly be that your broadband he’s having connection problems.. or just perhaps you might want to change the channel the router is using. You’ll need to login to your router as an admin user to change the channel. If one of your neighbours is using the same channel as you this could be causing a problem for yourself and them.

I'm sat within a foot of the router. Broadband is rock solid - no issues there thankfully.

The 'wifi' calling sprang back up on the photo about 10 mins ago.

Just seems very sporadic these days - no matter of phone re-sets, dropping it onto 'airplane mode' and back again- or disableing and re-enabling 'calls over wifi' seems to help.

Its just sporadic lately.

@brianotoole This is worth a try, turn the router off at the wall for 30+ seconds and then switch it back on.

Tried that one too - didn't seem to have any effect at the time - 'wifi calling' was off for about another 30mins after the reset

But always worth a try as you say.

Are you able to use other internet-based functions over the same WiFi hotspot, when VoWiFi is problematic?

Same for me, Wifi calling has been off most of the day. 2 people trying to work from home

Are you able to use other internet-based functions on the same WiFi-connection?

Was WiFi-calling working before today?

Anyone else having problems with WiFi calling today?

Trying to work from home and rely on WiFi calling as not ee service in my area. Tried rebooting my router but hasn't helped. Can't contact ee support as no signal and their messaging service is unavailable

Have you tried toggling WiFi-calling off/on in your phone's settings?

Yes all internet and WiFi functions are workings.

Yes Wifi calling was working this morning. There are 4 people on ee in the Houshold and and WiFi calling is down for all of us

WiFi calling toggled on/off.

As I said in another post there are 4 of us in the household and Wifi calling is down for all of us. It was working this morning

same problem here

As in my post seems to happen a lot at the moment - no issues with boardband - just the wifi calling dropping off... rendering my phone useless

Hi - Yes - all fine other than the calling (the vital bit!)

All the other wifi enabled functions on the phone are fine.

When 'EE Wifi Calling' drops off from the top part of the screen on the phone - I get 'Voip lite' which is dire - not even able to make a call, or receive a call.

Everything working today.
It's annoying that WiFi calling is so unreliable compared with FemTo boaster box that I used to rely on until ee decided to discontinue the service earlier this year
