topic Coastal Connectivity in Mobile Services

I sail a relatively small open boat in northern Scottish waters - probably no more than 10 miles offshore. With more and more reliance on connectivity, what recommendations are available, and what is reception like in this environment, to maintain a connection? Is it possible to boost a signal? Satellite connection is tried and tested, but for the smaller open boat, seem a little excessive [and expensive!]

Northern Scotland is quite a large area, you can check coverage by using a postcode of the nearest onshore location on the coverage tool

Boosting a signal is a concept often mentioned but in reality you need a reliable signal in the first place, and this is only occasionally a realistic solution.

One major consideration is that EE have extensive use of 800Mhz low-band service in remote parts of Scotland, and whatever device you choose should have this capability. A mobile-broadband device such as those on https://shop.ee.co.uk/mobile-broadband would be a good place to start.
