International roaming

I recently purchased a £30 sim to have 100gb while i travel Europe, i was told if i just put the sim in then im good to go, yet i have no data and cannot make calls or send texts??? Cannot call ee because i have no credit to call!

What do i do?

Hi @Riley1999

Are you in the UK now or abroad?

EE PAYG Sims need to be activated on the UK network. If you didn't activate it in the UK it won't work. There is no way around this.

I am abroad at the moment, i was told it was already activated when i was
in the uk

Unless you put the SIM into your phone and connected to EE UK network, then no it won't be activated.

The staff told me that i could put it in when i get to eu!, that is bad
from their staff to not know 😕 now i just lose £30

@Riley1999 , where did you purchase the SIM card, was it at the airport? Was it an EE shop? Contacting customer service would make no difference anyway, as they would not be able to activate it, as you are not in the UK.

@James_B , @Leanne_T are you able to pass this on to the shops, that customers need to put the SIM card in before going abroad etc., to make sure they are able to use their devices, please?
