I have the roaming data smart benefit - which countries are included?

I am heading to Cape Verde soon and wanted to know if i can use my smart benefit roaming pass in Cape Verde? There is no set list i can find online to find this out!

@NatN123 you can use that smart benefit for in the EU, America Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Mexico.

Annoyingly im unsure if Cape Verde is under EU as it is technically owned by Portugal...

Still doesnt say about the smart benefit, i think i will have to call customer services!

@NatN123 The smart benefit doesn’t cover you in Cape Verde. You can not even use your allowance if you go to the Falkland Islands this is UK Territory and it doesn’t cover that area. It doesn’t matter who owns what if it’s not classed as within the EU and it’s not. That link I posted is what it will cost you to roaming and the smart benefit will not cover you while there.

The pass allows you to use your standard minutes, text and data plan allowances while abroad in the five countries listed below, as well as 47 European destinations, just as you would in the UK.

USA

Canada

Mexico

Australia

New Zealand

The Roam Abroad pass will cover all countries affected by the EU roaming charges: Austria, Azores, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus (excludes northern Cyprus), Czech Republic, Canary Islands, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, French Guiana, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Guadeloupe, Guernsey, Hungary, Iceland, Isle of Man, Italy, Jersey, Latvia, Lichtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Madeira, Malta, Martinique, Mayotte, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Reunion Islands, Romania, San Marino, Saint Martin (French), Saint Barthelemy, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Vatican City (Italy).

Cape Verde is a Republic. It is not owned by Portugal; only its language is. You could equally say Brazil is in the EU.

I have highlighted above the far-flung outposts of the EU. The European Union (EU) counts nine outermost regions, which are geographically very distant from the European continent. These are French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Mayotte, Reunion Island and Saint-Martin (France), Azores and Madeira (Portugal), and the Canary Islands (Spain).
