Do you not have wifi that you can use instead of data? You will then still be able to keep up to date and receive any information you need.

Unfortunately, it makes no difference why you are abroad, the charges will still be the same. You can add a data plan whilst abroad, but probably is expensive, so may want to get a local SIM card for now, and if you have a phone which allows you dual sim, that may help keep the cost down. Once again, sorry for your loss.

I am being killed with roaming changes in Jamaica! The cost is £6:87 for 150mg but it lasts a maximum of 24 hrs!?

I have been here 4/20 and I’ve already spent £90! Surely there must be a cheaper way?!

Yes of course I know the charges. My parents retired here in Jamaica so I am here every three to four months.
There is only ONE data roaming charge which isn’t fit for purpose either by size in MG -150 or by maximum duration- 24hrs.

I’m here burying my dad- this is not a holiday and I have to keep my data on. I do not want to pay £150 per week for three weeks.

Yes, the only way to buy data in Jamaica is the 150MB Travel Data Pass for £6.85 per day. Can't you get on WiFi some days?
