I'm abroad and I didn't set up roaming

Hi ee,

I have made it abroad but didn't set up roaming.

Few questions

Can i set this up from outside the UK? And how? Can this then be turned off after i get back? I have tried texting roaming pass to 150 but nothing has confirmed etc. Do i need mobile data on as well to get that to work but again can i cancel say any time or will it roll till the end of the contest term?

If i use the phones you have told me the charges but will i be charged for having the phone idle to receive any messages?

This phone is a shared contract so will i need to use the primary contract phone to text to 150?

Sorry quite a few questions there but thanks on advance

@StephDL You won’t be charged receive text messages these are free you will need to activated roaming though to make sure you’ve got a working signal though you can do this by logging into your online account and go to roaming and enable both options that are there.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I can find the add ons. Do i know if once I've activated then once I'm back in the UK i can cancel or does it just provide a limited time of usable roaming. I cannot seem to find the finer details.

To activate roaming in My EE, go to Menu > Account Settings > Parental and Data Controls > Enable Roaming.

Which country have you travelled to?
