Disable messages on voicemail

Is there any way to set up your voicemail so that you have a greeting message but disable the ability of the caller to leave any message.

I'm off on holiday to the USA and wont be using my phone and don't want people to be able to leave messages while I am away.

Welcome to the community.

Unfortunately not. You could leave it set up and leave a voice message to say that you're away, but that would allow them to leave a message.

Or you can turn if off completely without a message by texting VM OFF to 150.

This can be done, but requires a combination of options to be used.

Within your voicemail menus, you need to setup an "extended absence greeting", this allows you the option of message deposit being enabled or disabled.

Seems to be fairly simple as choosing the holiday greeting from the option 2 menu !
