@Mollymagoo52 : It will if you are calling a non-UK no. from the UK. You are not roaming when you do so. They count as International calls & are chargeable.

International calls & texts to overseas nos. from UK can be rather expensive but EE has a free add-on that anyone, on PAYG or contract, can apply for to give these calls & texts at a fraction of the standard rates. See The Free CALL ABROAD Add-on for Cheap Calls/Texts from UK .

My son is in Spain so will his call home be free. Better for him to call me then

Only if he is on PAYG or started his contract before 07/07/2021 or has bought the Roam Abroad Pass for £10 / month.

@Mollymagoo52 It will not cost you anything to call a uk mobile that is not in the uk. If your son is already abroad and has setup roaming then he probably all ready has set up his account to call back to the UK so at best guess he’ll be ok to call you.
