I have PS5 Pro and no matter what I do my ping to the router is low , really low , says 5ms after “optimising ping” via EE App in the “enhance wifi” option. However when I’m playing Fortnite and I have geo filtering on just to use the same servers in London that I am assuming is the same ones the router is testing to get its ping figure, then why is Fortnite saying 30-40 ms then sometimes 60ms?

if I take geo filtering off it will send me accross Europe and I do feel the difference however I can sometimes get on a London server and it’s at what ping I expect with geo filtering on, 9~12 ms ping .

what is going on? Can someone help with this ping thing haha doing my head in!

5 ms ping to your router is not low. It's usually < 1 ms.

Depends where you live , all servers are in London so if you live in Carlisle ,you need to get to London, that takes time unless EE has the infrastructure to do so. Which atm they must not?

Obviously but you said in your OP about ping to a router. Now you are talking about ping to a server.

I don’t think you can read ! Explained that with the word “London” on my OP! Should make sense then if you re read that bit

No, I read 2 separate statements (& sentences); 1 about ping to a router & t'other about playing games to servers in London. Obviously the latter is far slower than than the former.

Let's face it, any observations about pings to a router is not only wrong but irrelevant.

Found the problem ! Netguma who are the third parties EE use for the Geo Filtering , Ping optimising etc (Wi-Fi advance basically) had and has some servers which say are London , are not , they are actually German servers , so when I see I’m connected to London and my ping is high (20+ms ) then it’s labelled wrong.

need to tell them the server number and then they will move that server to the correct location.

long but a solution to a problem which was near impossible to find out unless I connected the third party involved with EE
