Why wont my PlayStation 4 connect to the Internet with a 4gee WiFi dongle? But if I use my phones as a hotspot it's fine.

Hello. I can use the dongle as 4gee wifi for my phone no problem. But my PlayStation and smart TV won't connect to it. Not sure what's at fault really. But If use my phone as a wireless hotspot, my PlayStation and TV will connect to that no problem and use 4g internet. Should the dongle be ready to use from the box? Sim card has data and is in place .

It should be ready to use from the box. Does your PS4/TV see the Mobile Broadband on the available networks list? If so, do you get any error messages?

Hi. Yes , it comes up as an available wireless networkbon the TV and PlayStation 4. The PlayStation I believe will connect but can't get an actual Internet connection. The TV doesn't connect. But if I hotspot my phone to use as a wireless network, the TV and PlayStation can connect and be online. The PlayStation just says can't connect to the Internet .

Can you try the SIM card from the WiFi device in your phone to see if you can connect to the TV and PS4 the same as your phone SIM does?

Hello, yes I will try the sim in my phone. However, my phone can connect to the 4g dongle and use the Internet fine.

So I've put the sim in my phone and set up a hotspot for my TV using the data from the new sim and it works. I will do the same with the PlayStation aswell. I will also but the sim back in the dongle and try that again with TV and PlayStation .

I have the exact same issue,

I inserted the SIM into my phone, connect successfully

I put it back into the wifi mini/dongle, no internet connection

Is there any way to fix this??

I have done that, hotspot through iPhone worked

the dongle however, still no connection

I am having this same issue

Works fine on phone but I cannot connect my PS4, PC or TV

tried changing settings on pc with cmd prompts and still won't provide Internet (despite saying connected)

How did you fix?
