Nat Type 2 on PS5

Hi all.

I've seen previous posts relating to how to get a Nat Type 2 on PS5 rather than Nat Type 3, mostly stating that there's nothing I can do about this. I do understand the reasons given as to why this occurs.

However I found on my previous phone by creating my own access point and changing my APN settings to IPv4, I was able to establish a Nat Type 2 connection. I was able to replicate this several days ago on my newer phone by following the same steps, however this seemed to only work for a day and my laptop or PS5 can no longer connect to the internet using this access point I created (the default provided by EE works fine but gives a Nat Type 3 connection).

To confirm these are the settings I used on my old phone to establish a Nat Type 2 connection, and what worked briefly a few days ago.

Name: Nat 2

APN: Everywhere

Proxy, Port: Not Set

Username: eesecure

Password: Not set

Server: Not set

MMSC: Not Set

MMS Proxy: Not set

MMS Port: Not set

MCC: 234

MNC: 30

Authentication Type: PAP

APN Type: Internet

APN Protocol: IPv4

APN Roaming: IPv4

Bearer, Operator Type: None

As stated, I was able to establish a Nat Type 2 setting on PS5 with these settings on an old device, and briefly using my new phone. I wondered if anyone with a little more knowledge would be able to assist and suggest any changes or actions I can make to replicate the success I've had in the past with this method.

Have you changed the Default APN to your new 1?

Hi Ray, thanks for the response. I have done this, basically I used the default settings on both devices aside from the APN type and roaming protocol to IPv4. As I said this did work for one day on my newer device, but doesn't work at the present moment and I'm unable to figure out why this out.

It's not a huge deal, but it would be preferable if I could find a solution, if one exists.

I'm asking you whether you changed your new APN to be the "Default" APN, not whether you used default values in it.

Hi Ray, apologies for misunderstanding. I can confirm my new APN is the default, in any case I appear to have resolved the issue. I changed my authentication type to PAP or CHAP (it was previously just PAP) while using IPv4 and I now have a Nat Type 2 connection established again.

Hi, i know this is an old post but in the hope you see it, how did you set the new APN to be the default APN? im on a motorola g50, i can create the APN but cant set it to default.

@De-Buoy : After you edit it you than save it & it asks you whether it's to replace the default.

Im not getting that option, just tried it again. Im making a new APN from scratch and not editing (because i cant edit) the phone’s default one. Is that where my problem is?

APN settings are locked by carrier thats why
