EE Perk code not working

Hello,

I've generated a new EE Perk code and trying to use it whilst upgrading my current plan. I get the following error "Code entered is not applicable with this data plan. Please beware that certain codes aren't applicable if discounts are already applied."

I understand when it says this on packages which are already discounted, but I've tried some non-discounted packages too but get the same error. Could someone let me know which packages I'm able to use my EE Perk discount code on?

I'm sorry you are having trouble using your Perk code, are these plans at least a 12 month minimum term?

Yeah, they're all 24 month SIM Only contracts I've been looking at. Some are discounted already so understand why they might not be applicable but ones such as "150GB SIM" won't accept it either.

Are you currently on a handset plan @jackg2?

One of the terms is that you cannot move from a handset plan to a SIM plan so that could be the cause of the incompatibility.

No, I'm currently on a SIM Only plan and looking to move to a new one.

Have you had a chance to give this a try from a different device or browser to see if it will accept the code there?

If you continue to struggle, then provided your plan was eligible we can get discount codes added post-sale provided you're within the first 30 days of the contract.

The only SIMs listed online for Upgrade that I believe can be discounted currently are the 25GB Essentials at £25, Unlimited Essentials at £32, Unlimited Essentials Plus at £36, Unlimited All Rounder at £42 and the Unlimited Full Works at £48.

The Unlimited No Frills at £27 might also be discountable, although I am not 100% sure and the Speed Cap on that plan is generally prohibitive.

The rest of those listed are a type of Time-Limited Offer (not typically part of the core portfolio of plans) which are excluded from discounting eligibility.

This is contrary to what the call centre is saying. The process has changed due to abuse and discounts can no longer be added in after the sale has completed.

They will only add the discount on at point of sale or if the sales person misold the contract/made a mistake and didn’t add it on. If it’s a sales issue they will escalate so the call can be listed to and then add on the discount.

CS confirmed the above to me twice on Sunday as did exec team on Monday…

Thanks for updating this here @garetc.

I've taken a look into this and it states that it's at the discretion of a team leader, and whenever possible it's best to try and sort any discounts at the point of sale.

Circumstances will often differ and there are a range of different criteria for discount eligibility, but these would be taken into account in the rare instances queries like this occur.

Had that been relayed to Plymouth? The people I spoke with refused to pass to a team leader. In fact their resolution was the I started a 14-day return and re-order the handset which is bonkers and really wasteful.

I escalated to the exec team and they confirmed that what I mentioned above is the new policy for discounts post sale.

Aside from that it’s a really poor policy as it’s subjective, depends on who you get through to and how generous they’re feeling on the day or if a team leader is available to add it on.
