As an existing customer of 7 years, with all 4 of our families phones on the same account, I contacted EE via messenger today to discuss upgrading one of our phones.The usual patter ensued with "exclusive deal", "just for you" "spoke to my manager"....all the usual rubbish that we shouldn't have to put up with. Then came the shocker of "limited time for 5 minutes". After informing the person that this aggressive commercial practice is actually unlawful in the UK, I left the chat and will be leaving when the terms comes to an end. Shame really as I don't have any issues with EE, but if they can't just give the best price from the get-go, cutting out all the rubbish sales chat. Give me an old fashioned, honest company any day.

In fairness, any contract entered into on a distance-basis would come with statutory 14days "change of mind" right of cancellation.

@manamaga If you had checked online you’ll see the cheapest deal for that device and a tariff is £44.52 and it’s a £20 upfront. See HERE so yes it looks like it was a genuine offer. Yes they could just advertise the offers the standard tariffs but then people will still want a “special offer” when they upgrade.
