Hi, I have a £2.47 per day eu roaming add on on my account, how does it work please? Does it just become active when EE/my phone recognises that I am abroad and then become inactive when I’m back in the uk? Does it just do this automatically? Thanks

Hello @Holly1978 ,

Welcome to the community,

It will only become active on the days you use your phone, so if you are not actively using it, then you will not be charged.

So say one day you only use wifi, then it will not charge you, the next day you use data, then it will charge. Hope this helps.

Please also make sure you have roaming activated on your account before going abroad, by texting ROAMING to 150, or ringing customer service to get it activated.

This you only need to do if you are on contract, as pay as you go is auto enabled.

The £2.47 daily charge is incurred any day you use any of your UK allowances on any EU-based network.

That means making or receiving any calls, sending any text messages or using mobile data - whilst using an EU-network.

Remember to enable roaming by texting ROAMING to 150 before leaving the UK. That unlocks access to foreign networks.
