The roaming facility, which enables access to foreign networks and thus allows roaming, is free of charge.

Billing add-ons are for users to cancel, no operator will actively monitor every customer's usage for add-on usage. It's wise to be checking all regular bills & invoices to avoid missing discrepancies such as this.

10 months ago I turned on Roaming, then remember cancelling it after the holiday 2 weeks later. To my horror I just noticed I’ve been charged £24 a month for the past 10 months. I contacted EE and explained that the cancelling hasn’t worked and could they refund me. But as I didn’t have any proof I’d tried to cancel like any texts, they couldn’t help. I pointed out that proof would be I haven’t used the phone abroad in this period, but that doesn’t count. This seems unreasonable? Yes I should have noticed but it’s a simple oversight and surely they can tell I’ve not actually been using the roaming pass?
