Upgrade early with upgrade fee waived offer

I am considering upgrading to the s24 ultra from a sony xperia 1 iv and i see i can do that early with the rest of my contract costs waived (£286)

i just paid my current bill a week ago so i guess i need to wait another few weeks before i upgrade or i will be charged for an extra month if i upgrade now ?

can anyone confirm this is the case ?

@crunchy You’ll pay your current contract up to the point the new contract starts. So if you upgrade mid month your new contract will be the remainder of that month. Also, if you upgrade early, you have to have the same tariff price as you have now or more expensive, you cannot have a lower tariff.

That’s the catch of upgrading early

ahh ok so i should wait for a few weeks so the extra cost on my bill will be minimal .... the monthly cost for the s24 ultra would be higher anyway as i did see that as a condition to upgrade early, and i guess i would also get the earbuds and tag too ?
