You can see all costs relevant to the United Arab Emirates on our Roaming Tool.

Make sure you text ROAMING to 150 to make sure you're set up for roaming abroad.

If you have a pay monthly account, the text would need to be sent from the phone before travelling.

Did you activate roaming before leaving the UK?

Your query is therefore different to that of the thread you've joined.

If you don't have coverage abroad then you have likely not got roaming activated - this is necessary to use your phone abroad. The process differs between pay-monthly & PAYG, which are you?
