Apple Music setup issues

I've just got a new sim card and chose the 6 months free subscription to apple music. I've followed all the instructions and text 150 with music to get a link but it just opens apple music - temporarily has a loading page - then that disappears and it just goes back to the home screen. I don't have an apple subscription (I did in the past but cancelled it ages ago).

Am I missing a step to get this work? Thank you!

Hi Katie - unfortunately I don't have another device to test it on. I just keep getting the same message on apple music "your mobile plan does not include any subscription to apple services" but when I look in my EE account it's definitely there as an add on.
