Student discount on additional lines?

Hi all,

Just a quick random question

I have a SIM ONLY plan for myself, with my dad also on as an additional line with a Galaxy S21 FE.

I have a student discount on my main sim only plan as I am currently a student and the account holder, and my dad's phone had a 10% additional line discount.

If I add anymore additional lines, can I add a student discount to them or is it only the additional line discount I'd be allowed to have?

Hi @GarethWilliams,

You'd only be able to have the additional line discount as the student discount is limited to one per person.

Thanks for replying. That's what I thought, thank you. I was only asking just incase I'd missed the chance to have more money off it that's all haha.

Also, as of last night, when logging into my EE online, I'm faced with:

LOGIN ERROR

The issue appears to be affecting the app as well as although it does load up it does end up showing an error message saying something along the lines of ‘sorry, we cannot refresh this page’ or something

I should mention I did move to SIM ONLY yesterday night about 11pm. The issue started from there, although the contract changes did go through.

Just another quick question regarding the discounted plans, when you say student discount can only be applied to one per person, I guess this means just one account yes?

As in, I have it on mine but couldn't apply it on my dad's, or if I added my mother onto my plan.

It's linked to you as an individual, so you can only generate one single use code per person.

It's a bit vague but how I read it is if you use the code on your account regardless of the number of lines it should work. If you then choose to give that line to someone else to use that's up to you and you remain liable for the contract. It's worked like that for me previously.

Available to verified students, registered with a UK university. One single use code per person and per customer account. Student offers cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion, offer or discount that is provided by us or a third party, including cash back promotions. (From Totum/NUS)

Hi @garetc,

The discount code only applies to the line it is applied to at the point of sale. It won't be applied to any other lines on the same account.

Thank you for clarifying, but what I meant was- if I was to add another additional line to my account, say my mother, I'd not be able to add a student discount code to her plan as it already would have a 10% additional line discount? Is this right? 🙂

Hi @GarethWilliams,

You couldn't apply a second student discount to your account even if the 10% discount wasn't applied. You can only generate one single use discount code per person, and you can't apply more than one person's discount code on the same account.

All I wanted to make sure about was I couldn't add multiple student discount codes linked to me, I can only have the student discount on my primary plan and not the other plans with other generated codes by me.

So just to clarify one more time, a student beans 20% discount code can only be applied to one plan, even if I generated another code to add when checking out an additional plan, it wouldn't be accepted as one is already in use yeah?
