Hi,

Can we expect Black Friday deals this month? It seems like everyone else has had a head start.

I've seen some pretty good deals out there, and EE looks extortionate by comparison.

For instance:

Meanwhile EE's offering right now looks like this:

All 24 months for the 256 GiB version.

They are EE's cheapest options -- the first is the absolute cheapest, and the second is the cheapest to offer unlimited data (for fair comparison).

Look at the price differences...

Come on EE. Please do better.

That's good to hear. Since the current deals are advertised as Christmas deals, I thought what we had now was already a part of Black Friday since competitors have already launched their Black Friday deals.

Had that deal that I found been EE, I would have jumped on it. Unfortunately it's not.

Hopefully EE will have something relatively competitive?

So glad it's not just me. Not even any good deals for very long serving customers.

Disappointing that they know they hold their customers for having good and better coverage than other networks. But that's not fair.

Seriously considering sacrificing the network coverage for a better phone and better deal. So sad EE can't do more for longevity and loyalty.

I'm a loyal customer with EE sim only 2x sim contracts for the past 4 years unlimited data mins and txt on both sim deals £28 each per month, my contracts up on one of the sim cards so I rang EE and asked for a good deal to stay and they offered me a crap deals so I have canceled that contract and moved to another network and I got a better deal and the network coverage and internet speeds are just as good. My other sim contract with EE is due on the 22nd of this month = so if EE are not offering any good deals then I'll be canceling this contract too. that means EE will have lost £56 a month from me = Their loss not mine.

There had better be some good sim only deals so that I can consider staying with EE as a loyal customer or I'll be canceling my contract, EE are getting too greedy.

It's certainly not just you. I've been with EE now for around 6 years; 4 of them on contract.

Time and time again I've seen people attempt to justify the prices by bringing up the network and its coverage. That's great and all, but you can only do that up to a point.

Trying that same tactic when the price differences are quite literally double will not work. There is no excuse at all for that. I hint a little BT rubbing off on EE there.

I would absolutely take the better offer and jump ship to a different network with less 5G coverage if it meant saving up to 50% off my monthly bill. It's not like we're talking about no-name carriers here -- Vodafone's coverage is only #2 to EE.

I would also think it would be great for customers if EE started to implement true customizability in their packages as O2 does. You can finetune the monthly payment by tweaking the upfront cost, minutes, texts and data to your liking. You can even choose to have a 3-year contract. EE lacks all of these options.

Fingers crossed that EE is simply waiting it out to see what everyone else offers before they activate their Black Friday deals. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt, EE.

Similar story here. Been with EE/Orange nearly 15 years. The upgrade offers are awful. My gf who has been with them 4 years got a better upgrade deal than me, i rang them up and was just offered one of their standard bundles on the site. Told them I'll be cancelling my contract, they didn't bother asking why and not only that, the contract doesn't even cancel until i join a new network. Vodafones deals look amazing so another 60 quid p/m they will have lost from me. Awful company.

Agree with this. I am due to upgrade soon and unfortunately have had to look with other networks. Absolutely nothing wrong with EE’s coverage but other network plans are so much cheaper and that’s more important in the current climate. I have been with EE for many years now and am never offered any discount based on loyalty where as I know other networks do. Such a shame.

For what it's worth, EE doesn't have 5G coverage where I am. I would lose absolutely nothing by switching, but gain at least £1,080 in my pocket over the contract period.

So I've just checked. There is no difference whatsoever between being a new customer versus being an existing customer. EE also doesn't price match.

I've been a customer of EE for 22 years (obviously back when 'all this (waves hands over suburb) were Orange' and before I could even hold a contract).

My phone is slowly dying, so thought now was the time to get a new phone as I'm out of my enforced contract.

Went in to the Bristol Cabot EE shop, armed with a deal O2 had on their website that they have up for a few days until the 8th December. Asked a sales person whether they could match it, seeing as I was such a long term customer and would be getting a new contract.

"Sorry - that's a Black Friday deal, and we haven't announced our offers yet. Maybe come back in a couple of weeks and see what we have, but can't do anything for you today. See you soon!" Didn't even try to offer me a deal!

So I went into O2, and they straight up offered me a contract better than the website offer, with double data (as I happen to be a VM customer too)!

A bit of a shame, but unless they show their hand on competitive offers by Monday, I may be walking as I don't think there's anything beyond brand loyalty that makes me want to stay.

Kind of makes me miss the pushy tactics of Phones4u, who managed to sell me a phone I only was casually looking at - only took 45 mins of back-and-forth sales spiel and the salesperson walking into the cleaning cupboard, standing still for 2 minutes, coming back and saying 'well, I've spoken to the manager - not an offer we normally do, but can offer you this silly low price!' 😂

Totally agree ,not only are they very slow to put their sale on show they are quite happy to try sell you at the ridiculous prices they want to charge , always thought EE were good but not so much lately

I agree, it is unfortunate.

They knocked off £20/mo from the S22 Ultra price, but it's still at least £10/mo more than Three, O2 and Vodafone. It looks like I will be switching after all.

(While we're on this topic, I think it's very misleading to be advertising the cheapest price including a phone trade-in. Not everyone will want to trade in their phone, but more importantly the list of eligible phones is very small.)

Exactly that, I don’t want to trade in my phone either and was excited for a minute by the deal but then saw that that is what I’d have to do so it put me off!

Disappointing there are no good offers today for any of the phones Im looking at.
