EU Roam Free

I have just upgraded my contract as I used to be on a 3g plan. Until I changed my contract I used to be able to use my plan within the EU. I was on a very old plan

I have been told that I can still use my plan within the EU as I have been given a free add on. The add ons on my account are:

£2 per day for EU roaming - Variable

Roam in EU - Free

From my understanding the fact that I have 'Roam in EU - Free' means that I will not be subject to the £2 per day charge.

Can you confirm if this is the case as I will be on holiday in the EU next week for 4 weeks.

If that is not the case who should I contact

Welcome to the community,,

If you go into My EE App, you can see mobile add ons, click on that and Roaming, you will be able to add the roam further, which I believe with vat is £11.40 per month.

I would also suggest making sure that roaming, call abroad and premium calls are enabled.

Thanks for getting back to me but I do not think you have answered my question.

I am not interested in being able to roam further I just wanted to know if my plan includes use in the EU as the addon on my account states:

Roam in EU - Free

I am assuming this will mean if I use my phone in the EU to either send a text or make a call to a UK mobile or landline that it will not be charged as it will be covered by my Plan. I realise that if I was to call a non uk mobile then I would be charged but I am not intending to do that, I only want to be able to communicate with family in the UK

@garyfield , everyone, who starts a new plan, whether upgrading or new, now have to pay for roaming:

I otherwise have no idea, roam in the EU, free is for old plans, it all changed as you can read from the link, in July 2021. If you have a smart benefit, then you can use that without adding the roam further, as smart benefit has it.

That add-on itself is free to obtain. Everyone on contract gets it. It gives you the right to use your UK allowances in the EU for £2/day. If you didn't have that add-on you would have to pay for each call & text individually and buy a data add-on if you wanted any data.
