My internet service was recently upgraded to "full fibre" and the engineer from BT set up my existing BT landline phone to use the new connection. Since then my phone has worked quite well most of the time, but the green light associated with the 1571 button is flashing all the time as if there is a message waiting. However, whenever I dial 1571 I hear a message saying that there are no messages in the inbox. How can I correct this, or is it something that can only be corrected for me by EE or BT?

Get someone to leave you a VM on 1571, listen to it & then delete it. Does the green flashing light go away?

Thanks Jim, Afraid we do not do texting on sole decrepit ( very much NOT smart) mobile and were hoping to learn something by fixing ourselves. Guess a phone call to CS is inevitable but life is too short and time a premium right now so will just have to ring 1571 every time we come back in the room!!

Old landline and answerphone were so good and reliable!

@TonyShar You may be best to go on the EE DV and set the voicemail up to max rings which is 10, then allow your old answering machine to cut in and do the needed for you, in one off the links above explains how to do it all. You only have to worry then about twin callers when you are on a call, but you could do a personal message on the Voicemail saying "" Please do not leave a message, there is no checking it to get done, just call us back later if you do not mind"", not sure how or if you can fix out the call waiting indicator on your phone if you have tried the other option....

Link to everything voicemail is below.

Home phone voicemail | Home Phone Help | EE
