Hi

the video is helpful, except we have a main base unit with a rj11 socket so the cable won’t fit the green socket or the home phone adapter. Do we have to buy a cable with bs6312 on one end and rj11 on the other?

Or just a simple adapter( female rj11 to male bs6312- old style plug end)?

I've just switched to EE from BT broadband + digital home phone.

My cordless home phone is situated in the hall, a few metres away from the router.

I've been using a BT adapter to enable this. Should this still work with EE?

I've followed the instructions in the video. I assume the green light on the adapter should glow solid green? Even when plugged into a socket right next to the router, I can only get it to flash green, and when I plug the landline into the adapter, predictably, it doesn't work.

Am I missing something? Do I need an EE adapter?

Will find again and link the DVA, but if you are so close, plug the phone into the back off the hub, and put the DVA away in a drawer! Your choice but personally would advise go get a couple metre phone extension cable!

What your Digital Voice
Adapter light means
1 On initial plug in – flashes 0.5 seconds on,
2 seconds off
2 During registration – flashes quickly
0.5 seconds on, 0.5 seconds off
3 Once registered – stays solid green
4 During a call – flashes slowly 1 second on,
1 second off
5 Once registered, if there’s a connection
problem with your broadband – flashes
0.5 seconds on and 2 seconds off.
Maximum Digital
Voice devices
You can register a maximum of 5 Digital Voice
devices (that includes Digital Voice Handsets
or Digital Voice Adapters) to your new Hub at
one time

Thanks Jim, but our switchover was last Wednesday.
And where I want the handset base unit is only a few metres, but too far to run a cable from the Smart Hub.

Advanced wireless, and http://192.168.1.254 to get to it worth a try! BT/EE DVA are reported to be the same!

I have just been sent the EE digital home phone handset following installation of EE broadband in December and my old Panasonic handset no longer working. I was able to link the EE handset to the hub as instructed in the user guide, and for a short time the handset seemed to be working. However it is now coming up with a message saying No Link to the Hub and I am unclear as to what I should do to correct this. The home phone is situated in a different room from the hub/router. I sited the handset next to the hub for a few hours to see if it would link but it didn't. (I assume with this handset I do not need to use the digital adapter which I was sent to use with my old Panasonic? in any case there seems no way of connecting this handset to the adapter). Please can you advise?

So - I gave up with Phone no. 1 and tried Phone no. 2 - and hey presto - I at last seem to have a working handset. So of 2 new phones purchased last week from EE only one works! It has taken me from the day of broadband installation on 11th December to get this sorted! It has certainly not been the "seamless" experience I was promised when I took out the new broadband and landline contract with EE! The broadband installation has gone very smoothly but I feel I was left to sort the landline out myself which has been time-consuming and stressful.

Hi,

We have been using 2 x BT wireless digital voice phones for more than 5 years now and when we our broadband service moved from BT to EE a couple of years ago everything worked well.

My question is, when we set up the phones, the main handset had to be located near the router. Can I now move it into a different room, as it is unused where it is now?

@delflytoby Is the main handset base connected into the back of the Router? There are many different types and you do not say which you have! If they are the pure Digital No cable connection then move the phone were you need it, as long as it is able to reach the dect wireless signal from the Router!
