Despite wanting to stay with BT had to move broadband and landline to EE. Landline allows calls to be received but I cannot dial out as have no ring tone. Have no call barring and my contract includes landline so what is this problem and how can it be resolved.

had an engineer to switch us over on Friday and all was working fine when he left including dial tone on phone. Not impressed with this switchover.

The phone is connected into the EE smart hub via the green phone port just like it was with my old BT router. We were on digital voice before the switch which was working fine. Cannot understand why I can receive calls yet no dial tone to make calls out.

@JenC36 Even though you have changed from BT - EE the service on the voice for DV still has to path just a little different for the system integration, there ARE two parts to it as basic Incoming and Outgoing Calls, each are different, then there are all the networks that connect landlines, mobiles, mobile providers O2, Three, EE etc and on and on, so it all takes a little time for it to gel together..... But by now on Monday morning the light for it should be at the end off the tunnel, check again and if no dial tone, just switch the new EE Router off, leave it for 5 minutes then back on again, it will take about 5 minutes to boot up and go to the steady Aqua light, 10 minutes after it is back on check to see if you have the dial tone.....

Will assume that your handset is fine, plugged into the back off the hub as before where it was in the old BT Smarthub2 that you had.

And so you KNOW and are aware then that old hub works just fine on the EE service and operates just as before! So DONT be rushing to stick it back in the post to them yet you have 60 DAYS to do so!

Thanks @JimM11 your solution of turning router on and off again worked a treat. Now able to call out. I am in a mobile dead spot so one of the dwindling few who uses a landline. I didn’t realise two different paths for incoming and outgoing. I ignorantly thought that just as I could receive calls why I could not hear a dial tone nor make an outgoing call. Learnt something today so thanks for the solution, saves a call to the helpline.

Hope they mast cover the area but spotty mobile service is just what it is! Got similar and moved back on O2 as at least had the best signal coverage from them and that's not great either but hanging in there JUST!

Found that EE wi-fi calling work a treat and only a few times that it stuffed up but 100% all off the time is just not a factor off life!😶👍
