Which version EE HD Voice Handset do you have?

If it's the Advanced Digital Home Phone with Alexa built-in, you should be able to find the instructions on page 5 of the Digital HD Home Phone user manual.

Here is a picture of the handset I have. There does not appear to have an Alexa button on it.

Are you able to provide the make/model? It should be written on a label on the main base station for the handsets.

There are two versions of this handset.

The BT/EE Advanced Digital Home Phone with Alexa, and the version you have which is BT/EE Essential Digital Home Phone with HD Calling without Alexa access.

To link your Alexa to your home phone, you'd need to use a BT Advanced Digital Home Phone with Alexa built-in

Is there a method of adding to the contact details on the handset by setting up a file on a PC and then transferring the file to the handsets?

I believe both BT and EE have discontinued the Alexa handsets, with any replacements (even for faulty Alexa handsets) coming as a model without the Alexa features.

@RogerHale Fairly sure that the Alexa service is now shutdown and no longer operational, you may wish to check that out first....
