Hi All,

I have a newly upgraded landline to digital. I purchased a yealink W73P cordless phone to use on the new line as we use tyhem at work and im really happy with them. I purchased an unlocke phone from a 3rd party provider and from what i can gather they need configuring to the EE/BT platform. This is where i cant get any sense from either BT/EE or the seller on how to do this. The base station is plugged into the back of the router and has the 3 solid green lights but the hand set just says NO MATCHED LINE and i get no further than this. Not even getting any help from the YEALINK help desk either, i think they are only really interested in business users.

Any help much apreciated on getting me up and running.

Cheers

Andrew

The digital home phone service will only work with digital voice handsets provided by EE/BT or by plugging a normal phone/base station into the green telephone socket on the back of the Hub.

Thanks

Hi Neil

Thank you for the welcome and coming back to me.

Thats disapointing as none of the retailers selling the YEALINK phones make you aware they are only compatible for commercial cloud voice syatems.

My main reason for buying one is that the analogue phones when used on a digital line no longer deliver the tones required when trying to access services for example when they say press 1 for accounts or 2 for customer services i guess there is something lost when converting analogue to digital which is massivly frustrating as if you cant select one of the services you just get cut off.

I have only found 1 offering from BT for home VOIP phones which again is pretty rubish.

Again thank you for your time and if you have any sugestions on a VOIP phone that could be compatible it would be much apreciated?

Regards

Andrew

@XRaySpeX The Yealink W73P is a VOIP phone that connects using ethernet, they're not compatible with the digital home phone service.

@Drew8346 When connecting a normal analogue phone to the green socket you should still be able to use touch-tone dialling. How old are the phones you've tried? VOIP phone systems can't be used with the Digital home phone service.

I would say they are no more than 4 years old and they at the time were BT's premium cordless option.

Im happy to upgrade but dont want to wast money on other analogue phones only to find i still cant access services that require you to enter a number as an option.

So Just to clarify no VOIP phones will work on the BT home digital land lines?

Cheers

Andrew

Firstly this is an EE forum so saying you have moved to Vodafone, you would be better off asking your questions to Vodafone or their forum if they have one.

I assume you are now either using your own hub or a Vodafone supplied one?
Did you port your landline number over as part of the broadband move to Vodafone? If you didn't that like explains why it no longer works as your number has been released back into the EE pool.

Anyway, cannot really comment much further as no idea on Vodafone setup.

Hi RichyChand,

Am having the same issue as you had but the ‘Register Handset’ route doesn’t seem to be working for me.

My set up:

Yealink T41S handset: in DECT mode (dongle attached) not SIP mode

Satellite Handsets W56H

Yealink W60B base station, through which the handsets connect.

Base station connected by Ethernet to EE Hub

Handsets were originally with a BT service, operating without a problem via the BT Router

We’ve switched to EE.

Handsets/Base Station have found the EE Home Hub IP address without a problem

BUT, as you, phones display ‘No Service’

Behind the scenes on the web portal for the phones (using the IP address on the phones/base station), the ‘Account’ section needs the following info for the digital phone (VOIP) service:

- Register Name

- User Name

- Password

- SIP Server 1: Server Host & Port

Getting these pieces of info correct seems to be the key. Not there yet.

Your success in registering your handsets may be able to help.

So, understanding your post…

- EE Home Hub home page

- Open ‘Phone’ tab

- click Register handset

- select ‘Register’ on - ?? each handset or just base station

I have followed this route but the handsets don’t register.

So, can I ask this of you: having got your Yealink handsets operational, by ref to the Account section of the web user interface for the handsets, what information did you/do you have entered for

- Register Name

- User Name

- Password

- SIP Server 1: Server Host & Port

(These will be generic for the digital voice service for all on EE and not specific to your account)

I’m working on the presumption that, with this information, I can enter it manually via the handset web interface and get them operational.

I hope you are happy (and able) to help me. Thanks for any assistance you can give.

You probably have a solution by now. I do not know if this phone will work with EE. The W70 is a great phone. If you are getting no matched line 1. Be sure to check that your service provider has the correct Mac code for your phone base (on the back). If they do so then factory reset you base. Take power & Ethernet cable out of the base. Hold down Wi-Fi button on the base and keep it held down. While Wi-Fi button is held down reinsert the power cable. All lights will go green again. Remove the power cable let go the Wi-Fi button, wait 20 seconds then reinsert power and the Ethernet cables. You should get a single power light to begin with. WAIT 6 minutes. AFTER six minutes you should get two green lights in the base. Press the Wi-Fi button on the base until the phone light flashes on the base (third light) then press the dash button beneath the display on the handset to pair the phone to the base. If asked for a pin by default it is 0000. If this does not work go to settings (middle big button) go to 6. Registration. Hold down the Wi-Fi button until phone light on base starts flashing. Click OK on the right and try to register handset there.
